Jamie Newsom Eaton
I’m a (nearly) lifelong Alaskan and I’ve always loved massage and its many benefits. After a short career as a journalist, and a longer career as a non-profit fundraiser and manager, I decided to follow my longtime interest in natural healing. I graduated from the massage therapy program at Alaska Career College in April 2022 and became a licensed massage therapist in the state of Alaska in May.
I have completed a course and certification in manual lymphatic drainage therapy through the Academy of Lymphatic Studies. I enjoy working with clients with this unique form of manual therapy to support the bodies’ natural lymphatic process. I love hearing how clients experience the benefits of MLD.
I also hold Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in English and journalism. I always love to talk about books, plays or movies. I also love teaching myself new skills through YouTube videos, like sourdough bread baking and new crochet stitches.
I am excited to get started practicing barefoot massage and I’m so looking forward to sharing the benefits of manual lymphatic drainage with Solstice Bodywork clients
Jamie Manual Lymphatic Drainage
In an MLD session, Jaime will manually push excess fluid towards your lymph nodes and lymphatic ducts, working with your body’s natural physiological processes. Clients who receive MLD treatments often experience a reduction in swelling or bloating, feeling more energetic,faster recovery times from hard athletic training and faster healing times after illness, surgery or injury.

Jamie Barefoot Massage
During your Barefoot massage session with Jamie, she will use her feet and supplement some massage with her hands. The feet have approximately 100,00-200,000 nerve endings that she uses to palpate bony landmarks and soft tissue, she is specially trained in finding your tight, painful areas. Although pressure can be adjusted, this is great for the deep tissue massage lover, such as athletes or people of larger stature with healthy bones. While not new to the massage industry and also specializing in Manual Lymphatic Drainage, Jamie is trained in the first level of barefoot massage and has the core knowledge of unique specialty.
